Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) for The Reshape Project. If you have a question that is not listed below, please reach out to us using the contact form here.

Q: Are you a qualified Personal Trainer?

A: Yes, I am a level 3 qualified personal trainer with a deep understanding of how to support you through exercise.

Q: Do you offer workouts at the clients home?

A: Yes, I offer personal training sessions at your residence after we have had our free consultation meeting via the phone or in person.

Q: Will you train me like a bodybuilder?

A: No. Training like a bodybuilder is great for building muscle but there are better ways of building muscle while also looking after other aspects of your health. I will train your movement over muscle, helping you to build muscle and train your conditioning while also reducing your body fat.

Q: Why don’t you believe in counting calories?

A: Counting calories is a great way of tracking exactly what you eat and is a great way of holding yourself accountable. However, this is a slippery slope and can lead to potential eating disorders if not managed properly. Being mindful of what you eat is important but life happens and it is important to remember that.

Q: What split are your workouts?

A: For absolute beginners or people who are kickstarting their health journey from scratch, I heavily recommend full body workouts. However, if you have a specific goal in mind, let me know and I can tailor the workouts to better suit you.

Q: Where are your 1-on-1 personal training sessions held?

A: Sessions take place at PureGym Hammersmith Palais, 242 Shepherds Bush Rd, London W6 7NL. I work there as a personal trainer so we will have access to all of the gym equipment.

Q: Do I need previous gym experience before starting a training program?

A: Not at all. Every program is customized to your current fitness level, whether you are a complete beginner or you are looking to build on your current exercise experience.

Q: Do I work with complete fitness beginners?

A: Yes I do, I work with all people as long as they are cleared to do exercise. All potential clients will be given a PARQ form that they have to complete before we can train together, if they are not cleared to do exercise then they should contact a GP or a medical profession for a more in depth assessment.

Q: Do I work with people who are prediabetic or have high blood pressure?

A: Yes as long as they are clear to do exercise and complete the PARQ form when I send it to them.

Q: How can I book a fitness assessment or consult with a trainer?

A: You can speak to me in person at PureGym Hammersmith Palais, complete the contact form on this website or message me via the chatbox on this website.

Q: How soon can I expect to see visible physical changes?

A: Improved energy levels and strength typically occur within the first 2 weeks, while noticeable physical transformation usually shows within 4 to 6 weeks of consistent.

Q: How long are individual personal training sessions?

A: I plan all sessions to last around 60 mins. If you would like to change the duration of the exercises, please let me know in advance of our next session so that I can plan accordingly.

Q: How many sessions per week do I need to see real results?

A: Most clients see results when they do resistance training 2-3 times a week. This is usually paired cardio and rest days where they do low impact mobility exercises such as yoga or swimming. In order to see results, you will need to focus on eating healthy and nutritious foods as well as training consistently over a long period of time.

Q: What happens during the initial consultation?

A: We discuss your specific goals, review your health and injury history and map out a realistic path forward before starting your program. In order for me to help you as much as I can, I need to know as much as possible about you, as much as you are willing to tell me.

Q: Will strength training make me look bulky?

A: No. Muscle bulk requires extreme caloric surpluses and specific high-volume protocols. Tailored strength training burns fat and creates a lean, toned physique.
